Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 13) — The National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs prevailed over the University of the Philippines (UP) Lady Maroons in a cardiac finish, 25-17, 14-25,17-25, 25-13, 17-15, Wednesday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
Libero Jennifer Nierva had 29 excellent receptions for the Lady Bulldogs.
National University went on a 7-1 run in the crucial stretch of the fifth set to secure the hard-earned win.
The Lady Bulldogs notched their second victory in the tournament, while the Lady Maroons suffered their second straight loss.
NU will next battle league-leading Ateneo Lady Eagles on March 16, while UP aims to get back on track when it faces the Adamson Lady Falcons on March 17.
