
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 18) — Classes are still suspended in some areas in southern Luzon and the Visayas due to tropical depression Urduja.

Scattered rains will prevail over the northern part of Palawan on Monday as tropical depression Urduja approaches the province.
In its 5 a.m. update, state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Urduja is expected to make landfall in northern Palawan today. Signal number 1 is up over the whole province.
According to the weather bureau, Urduja is forecast to be out of the country on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, another tropical depression was seen outside Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 1,650 km east of Mindanao as of 4 a.m., Monday. It packed winds of 40 kph and gusts of 50 kph, and will be named “Vinta” once it enters PAR.
