
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 14) — Officials have announced class suspension for December 15 as tropical depression Urduja heads for the Bicol region.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has raised storm signal number 2 in the following areas, meaning pre-school, kindergarten, elementary and high school classes in the following provinces are suspended:
Northern Samar
Eastern Samar
Samar
Biliran Island
Pre-school and kindergarten classes, meanwhile are suspended in these areas following PAGASA’s announcement that signal number 1 has been raised:

PAGASA said Urduja is expected to make landfall in the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas on Friday, after which it is expected to cross Southern Luzon over the weekend.
The weather bureau said Urduja has intensified into a tropical storm, with maximum sustained winds 65 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
PAGASA also warned fisherfolk and those with small seacraft not to venture over the Visayas seabords and the eastern seaboard of Bicol dues to rough seas because of the storm.
