Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 1) — A number of local government units suspended classes on Monday, December 4 in anticipation of the planned nationwide transport strike.
Here is the list of class suspensions:
Albay — all levels (except schools in islands and far-flung areas, to be determined by local school authorities)
Camarines Sur — all levels
Guagua, Pampanga — all levels
Transport groups No to Jeepney Phaseout Coalition and Pinagkaisahang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide announced they would hold a two-day jeepney strike on December 4 and 5.
The groups also staged a transport strike against the government’s jeepney modernization program last October, which prompted the government to suspend classes and government work nationwide.
