
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 23) — National team head coach Chot Reyes has revealed the 12 players who will suit up for the Philippines against Japan in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
Gilas will play against Japan at the Komazawa Olympic Park Gymnasium in Japan on Friday.
The 12-man Gilas lineup is composed of Calvin Abueva, Japeth Aguilar, Kevin Alas, Andray Blatche, Jayson Castro, JuneMar Fajardo, Allein Maliksi, Gabe Norwood, RR Pogoy, Kiefer Ravena, Troy Rosario and Matthew Wright.
“This is just the 12-man roster for tomorrow’s game. For Taiwan, it could change,” Reyes said.
Reyes made the announcement on the Kuwentong Gilas page on Thursday.
Mac Belo, Carl Bryan Cruz and Raymond Almazan are the players who were left off the list.
“I spoke to the three of them earlier. They have taken it very professionally,” Reyes said.
After their game against Japan, Gilas Pilipinas will return to Manila and face Chinese Taipei on Monday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
