‘Paki’, ‘Changing Partners’ bag awards at Cinema One Originals Film Festival

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 19) — Paki and Changing Partners were the frontrunners in the 2017 Cinema One Originals Film Festival Awards Night at the Dolphy Theater Sunday.

Paki, which won Best Picture, is a film about an 80-year-old woman who falls out of love with her husband, and asks for her children’ blessing with the separation. The movie stars Dexter Doria, Sharmaine Buencamino, and Eula Valdez.

Giancarlo Abrahan, the film’s director, won Best Screenplay. Abrahan also won Best Director, tying with Dan Villegas who helmed drama musical Changing Partners.

Agot Isidro took home the Best Actress award while his co-star in Changing Partners, Jojit Lorenzo also won Best Actor award.

Best Cinematography: Alex Espartero, Historiographika Errata

Best Short Film: Sorry for the Inconvenience, Carl Chavez

Best Documentary: Bundok Banahaw, Sacred and Profane, Dempster Samarista

Jury Prize: Historiographika Errata

Audience Choice Award: Changing Partners

Champion Bughaw Award: Changing Partners

The competition films of Cinema One Originals will screen in various cinemas from November 12 to 28.
