
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 16) — Filipino-British artist Bailey May was officially announced as a member of the upcoming global pop group Now United on Wednesday.
Now United, which will be launched in March 2018, was formed by “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance” creator Simon Fuller, who also managed and mentored the Spice Girls.
May was the only Filipino chosen to be part of the group, besting other finalists from the country-Ylona Garcia, Jane de Leon, and AC Bonifacio.
Members of 14-member performing crew will work with Grammy Award-winning record producer and songwriter RedOne on their first studio album.
Top choreographers Kyle Hanagami and WilldaBeast will also mentor the group.
Now United, which will showcase teenage artists from different countries, will also feature:
Lamar Morris from the United Kingdom
Josh Beauchamp from Canada
Shivani Paliwal from India
Heyoon Jeong from South Korea
Any Gabrielly from Brazil
Hina Khan from Japan
Noah Urrea from the United States
Diarra Sylla from Senegal
Joalin Loukamaa from Finland
Sofya Plotnikova from Russia
May rose to fame in the Philippines after joining “Pinoy Big Brother: 737” in 2015, where he eventually clinched third runner-up.
The 15-year-old ABS-CBN artist has since suited up for various small roles in the network’s television shows, and released several songs.
