All storm signals lifted as tropical storm ‘Jolina’ leaves PH

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 26) — All tropical cyclone warning signals have been lifted as Tropical Storm “Jolina” left Philippine territory Saturday afternoon.

In its 5 p.m. advisory on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the center of “Jolina” was last spotted 280 kilometers west of Laoag City as of 4 p.m. Saturday.

The storm packs maximum sustained winds of 80 kph and gusts of up to 95 kph.

The state weather bureau also said the storm is moving northwest at 24 kph toward China.

PAGASA Weather Forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said in a Saturday press briefing that light-to-moderate rains will affect the National Capital Region, the Ilocos Region, Zambales and Bataan on Saturday night due to the southwest monsoon.

“Bukas ay inaasahan natin ang buong bansa na makakaranas ng magandang panahon,” he said. “Siyempre may inaasahan pa rin tayo na isolated na pag-ulan o thunderstorm, kadalasan sa hapon o gabi.”
