
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 21) — Tropical storm Isang (international name: Hato) which is spotted east of the northernmost part of the Philippines has slightly weakened, weather forecasters said.
In its latest 2 p.m. bulletin on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the storm’s center was 255 km east of Basco, Batanes and continued in a northwesterly direction.
It added Isang will enhance the southwest monsoon (Habagat), which in turn could bring “light to moderate to possible occasionally heavy storms” over the following areas:
Metro Manila
Central Luzon
CALABARZON
MIMAROPA
Bicol
Visayas
Storm signal number 2 is up over the Batanes group of islands, while storm signal number 1 is raised in the Babuyan group of islands.
No class cancellations have been announced as of posting time.
