Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 17) — Fans of the hit movie “Kita Kita” will be delighted, as the duo of Empoy Marquez and Alessandra de Rossi star in a new project, this time for the small screen.
ABS-CBN business unit head Deo Endrinal made the announcement in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
Actor Piolo Pascual, who was producer of “Kita Kita,” will join the show and be paired with Arci Muñoz.
JC de Vera is also part of the star-studded cast.
Endrinal said the show will be directed by Antoinette Jadaone, whose television projects include success shows “Till I Met You” and “On The Wings of Love.”
The sleeper hit “Kita Kita” is now the highest-grossing independent film in the country, reaching more than P300 million in the box office since it premiered on July 16.
The romantic-comedy film follows Tonyo and Lea, played by Marquez and De Rossi, as their friendship blossoms into an unlikely relationship in Japan.
