
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 3) — Even without a tropical storm, classes are being suspended in different cities and provinces due to heavy rains.
Here is a list of class suspensions for Aug. 3, Thursday:
Rizal:
Antipolo (All levels)
Cainta (All levels)
Cardona (All levels)
Jalajala (All levels)
Tanay (All levels)
Taytay (All levels)
Baras (Preschool to senior high school)
Binangonan (Preschool to high school)
Pililla (Preschool to high school)
Teresa (Preschool to senior high school)
Cavite:
Cavite City (All levels)
Metro Manila:
Valenzuela City (Palasan daycare, Balangkas daycare, Coloong daycare)
Occidental Mindoro:
Mamburao (All levels)
Sablayan (Preschool to elementary school)
Looc (Preschool to high school)
Palawan:
Busuanga (Preschool to high school)
Classes in the following schools have also been suspended:
University of the East, Manila and Caloocan branches (Kinder to Grade 12)
College of San Benildo-Rizal (All levels)
In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said light to moderate rains due to the southwest monsoon, as well as occasionally heavy rains and gusts due to thunderstorms, will be experienced over Metro Manila, Visayas, and regions of:
Ilocos
Cordillera
Central Luzon
CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon)
MIMAROPA (Marinduque, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon)
Bicol
Caraga
Northern Mindanao
Davao
Zamboanga Peninsula
At 1 p.m., the state weather bureau issued a yellow heavy rainfall warning and warned of flooding in low-lying areas in Bataan.
It added, heavy rains with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are expected over Cavite and Batangas within the next 3 hours.
Classes were also suspended yesterday, mostly in the south area of Metro Manila and Luzon, due to heavy rains.
