#WalangPasok: Class suspensions for Aug. 2

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 2) — Class suspensions for Wednesday started to come in past 5:30 a.m. due to severe rains.

The following cities and provinces have declared the suspension of classes for August 2:

Metro Manila

Muntinlupa (Afternoon classes, all levels)

Las Piñas (All levels)

Cavite (pre-school to high school)

Imus (All levels)

Laguna (All levels, starting 11 a.m.)

Rizal

Angono (Pre-school to senior high school)

Antipolo (Pre-school to senior high school)

Baras (Pre-school to senior high school)

Tanay (Pre-school to senior high school)

Cainta (All levels)

Cardona (Afternoon classes, all levels)

Morong (All levels)

Taytay (All levels)

Teresa (All levels)

Classes and work in the following universities have also been suspended:

De La Salle University, Laguna Campus (Classes dismissed at 12:30 p.m., office work suspended at 1:30 p.m.)

The southwest monsoon (habagat) is affecting the entire country, bringing moderate rains and thunderstorms over Luzon, including Metro Manila, Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol, Eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga, and Zamboanga Peninsula.

Currently, no tropical cyclone is inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

State weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring Typhoon Noru, which is outside the PAR, at 1,595 km east northeast of Basco, Batanes.

Noru moves at a speed of 13 kilometers per hour (kph), west northwest, with a maximum sustained winds of 165 kph and gustiness of 205 kph.
