
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 26) — Schools and local government units have declared class suspensions on Wednesday due to bad weather.
As of 12:30 p.m. classes in both public and private schools are suspended in the following areas:
Bataan (All levels)
Cavite (All levels)
Caloocan City (All levels)
Malabon City (All levels)
Olongapo City (All levels)
Manila (Elementary and high school)
Navotas City (Preschool to senior high school)
Quezon City (Afternoon classes, preschool to senior high school)
San Fernando City, Pampanga (Preschool to senior high school)
Subic, Zambales (All levels)
Valenzuela City (Preschool to high school)
The following schools and colleges have also canceled classes:
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela
Valenzuela City Polytechnic College
Our Lady of Fatima University Valenzuela campus (Preschool to high school)

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has raised a yellow heavy rainfall warning over Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, and Pampanga. It warned of flooding in low lying areas.
In its 11 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said light to moderate with occasional heavy rains may persist for two to three hours in Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Tarmac, Batangas, and Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta, Real, Polilio Island) due to the southwest monsoon.
“Gorio” has intensified in a tropical storm, PAGASA said.
In its 10 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said Gorio was last seen 595 km East of Casiguran, Aurora and has slightly slowed down as it moves north-northwestward at a speed of 13 km/h. It is expected to enhance rains brought by the moonson.
