Cops seize ₱2M worth of shabu in Bacolod City

Bacolod City (CNN Philippines. June 26) — The police seized around ₱2 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Bacolod Sunday.

According to Police Insp. Adrian James Albaytar, head of the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit, arrested were John Jeryl Gemora, 22 years old, John Mark Malde, 21 years old, and a 15-year-old boy, whose name was withheld because he is a minor.

The operation yielded a large sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 200 grams, and three more sachets of suspected shabu, Albaytar said.

Gemora – who was on the police’s street-level target list – and the boy were the subjects of the operation, Albaytar said.

The suspects will be facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On June 10, the City Drug Enforcement Unit was able to seize shabu worth P800,000 from eight men in Barangay 31 in Bacolod City.
