Google Doodle celebrates PH Independence Day

Google once again celebrates the country’s Independence Day with a Doogle.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 12) — The Philippine flag is displayed proudly on Google’s front page as the country celebrates its 119 Independence Day.

This year’s Doodle shows people gathered around a flagpole to honor the banner, in the background is the sun, stylized to resemble the one on the standard.

Google says, “The flag of the Philippines is a symbol of national pride, especially today as the country celebrates the anniversary of its sovereignty. In honor of Philippine Independence Day, today’s Doodle is a colorful celebration of both the Philippine flag and the country’s unique island landscapes.”

Google has been paying tribute to the country’s Independence Day since 2009. Some of the more colorful Doodles were a stylized illustration of the Aguinaldo Shrine (2013), a jeepney (2016), and a parade (2014).
