PAL to enforce stricter security measures amid Mindanao conflict

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 29) — Philippine Airlines (PAL) is enforcing stricter security measures in airports where it operates in the wake of the Marawi City crisis, and martial law in Mindanao.

In an advisory issued Monday, PAL reminded passengers to present one valid identification card during airport check-in and pre-flight boarding.

The following identification cards will be accepted for PAL’s domestic flights:

Passport (Philippine and Foreign issued)

Driver’s License

Phil. Regulations Commission ID

SSS Card

GSIS e-card

Voter’s ID

Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID

Seaman’s Book

Government Office ID

ACR / ICR

Company ID

Government-owned or controlled corporation ID

Unified Multi-purpose ID

NBI Clearance

Police Clearance

Senior Citizen Card

Postal ID

TIN Card

Barangay Certification

Health Insurance Card ng Bayan

OWWA ID

OFW ID

National Council of Disability Affairs ID

DSWD Certification

School ID (signed by Principal)

NSO Birth Certificate (for pax less than 2 years of age)

Only passports will be accepted for international flights.

PAL earlier said it would strive to maintain normal operations in Mindanao for the duration of martial law in the region.

It said it would operate all scheduled flights unless there is a need for a flight cancellation or delay.

Passengers with confirmed bookings to Mindanao from May 24 to July 30 may also rebook their tickets without penalties within 90 days from the original flight date or within the ticket validity period.

They may also reroute tickets without penalties, subject to the appropriate additional fares or taxes, or refund them without penalties.
