Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 9) — Petron Corporation expanded its annual motorist assistance program to include major cities in Visayas and Mindanao.
Petron stations in Iloilo, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Davao City joined the Lakbay Alalay program, along with Petron stations on the North Luzon Expressway, South Luzon Expressway, STAR Tollway and the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway.
The Lakbay Alalay program, which the company has been conducting since 1986, offers motorists free car-safety checks, free medical assistance, a free 15-minute massage and road-safety activities.
“This program started 31 years ago with the employees’ initiative to give the motorists assistance especially during the travel season of Holy Week and Undas,” the company said in a press statement. “This program is Petron Corporation’s way of giving back to the motorists by extending their time and effort in offering additional services only the best in the industry can offer.”
Petron said 200 volunteers took part in this year’s Lakbay Alalay, versus the 166 people who joined last year.
Motorists said they were grateful to Petron for providing this service.
“It’s really helpful kasi merong help na katulad nito na maa-access natin ng very, very easy lang,” said one motorist.

“Gusto ko sana maganda yung travel ko,” another motorist said. “Buti na lang may ganito dito sa Petron.”
