8 hurt in Quezon collision

Gumaca, Quezon (May 1) — Eight people were hurt in an accident involving a passenger van and a mini truck in Brgy. Lagyo, Sunday night.

According to a police report, the van carrying vacationers from Camarines Sur hit the mini truck at around 10 p.m. while it was emergency parked in the middle of Maharlika Highway.

Injured were Tiffany Narugo, Jenny Rose Pabon Reyes, Mark Ian La Guisma, Louise Ann Olazo, Lavern Algos who were college classmates in Metro Manila and were on a vacation in Bicol.

Reports said the mini truck stopped on the highway after its rear tire blew around 5 p.m.

Rescuers had difficulty freeing the stuck legs of the two women passengers seated in front of the van.

The victims were brought to San Diego de Alcala Hospital and RAKKK Medical Prophet Hospital.
