Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 24) — If summer’s not officially in the country yet, why have Filipinos been feeling intense heat since yesterday?
The hottest temperature in the Philippines for 2017 was recorded yesterday, which is at 35.4°C.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio, warned there will be warmer days.
“Unti-unti na pong humihina ang epekto ng Amihan. Kaunti na lang na paghihintay ay official na po nating idedeklara na tag-init na,” he told CNN Philippines.

The maximum temperature expected on Friday is 34°C. As of 1:30 p.m., PAGASA recorded 35.3°C at the Quezon City Science Garden – the highest for Metro Manila this year.
The end of amihan, or the northeast monsoon, is the signal of the dry season, which usually starts mid-March.
The cool northeast monsoon, usually associated with Christmas season, starts during the -ber months.
Last year, summer was officially declared on March 15.
