Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Golden Tigresses demolished the University of the East (UE) Lady Warriors, 25-9, 25-22, 25-23, on Wednesday afternoon at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
Ria Meneses led the Golden Tigresses with 13 points.
It looked like it would be a walk in the park for UST as they cruised to an easy first set victory.
But the Lady Warriors were able to regroup and even threatened to extend the match in the next two sets.
EJ Laure and Cherry Rondina chipped in 12 points each for the Golden Tigresses.
The España-based squad barged into the win column, while UE stayed winless after three outings.
Mary Anne Mendrez and Jasmine Alcayde paced the Lady Warriors with 6 markers each.

UST’s next assignment is the University of the Philippines (UP) Lady Maroons on February 19 (Sunday) at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
