Tropical depression Bising slows down

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Tropical depression Bising slightly slowed down Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

It is now moving northwest at 11 kph, according to the state weather bureau’s 11 a.m. advisory.

The center of the tropical depression was estimated at 515 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur as of 10 a.m.

Bising has maintained its strength, packing winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA said Bising is expected to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains within its 300 km diameter.

Sea travel is risky over the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, PAGASA said.

Bising is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday morning.

No tropical cyclone warning signal is up as of posting.

The low pressure area developed into tropical depression Bising on Friday.
