Sushmita Sen to judge Miss Universe pageant in Manila

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Miss Universe 1994 queen Sushmita Sen will be one of the chosen few to pick the next owner of the Miss Universe crown.

Sen excitedly announced on Saturday she is excited to return home to the Philippines to judge the 65th Miss Universe pageant.

“It’s where it all began. Life comes a full circle, from winning Miss Universe, to having owned its Indian franchise, to now returning back to Manila this time as a judge,” she said in an Instagram post.

In 1994 — the second time the Philippines hosted the prestigious pageant — Sen was crowned the queen.

Her win was the first time India brought home the title.

Sen will choose the next Miss Universe queen during the grand coronation pageant on January 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

Aside from Steve Harvey hosting the event and Ashley Graham hosting backstage, Filipino-Hawaiian vlogger Bretman Rock was also recently announced as the Miss Universe red carpet host.
