Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters ripped apart the NLEX Road Warriors, 107-97 on Friday.
Jewel Ponferrada recorded a career-high 22 points and nine rebounds for the Elasto Painters in the game held at the PhilSports Arena.
Trailing by 10 points at halftime, Rain or Shine unleashed a strong second half performance to add to the Road Warriors’ series of frustrations.
In their first meeting against their former coach Yeng Guiao, the Elasto Painters dominated the inside points, 42-22.
Sean Anthony tallied 22 points and 16 rebounds for NLEX who suffered its fifth consecutive setback.
Jericho Cruz added 19 markers for the Elasto Painters.
The Elasto Painters are tied for second spot alongside Blackwater and TNT with a 4-2 slate.
Rain or Shine will next face the Phoenix Fuel Masters on January 8, Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
