Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — This weekend, watch your favorite local indie bands in a special year-ender and in an EP launch party, discover the art of two street artists in a visual exhibition, engage in performances and debates by Nordic artists, celebrate pride in a debut screening and talk regarding LGBTQs, join a free seminar on museum practice, and splurge on clothes and gifts for Christmas in a fashion bazaar.

The Rest is Noise Year-End 2016

Local indie music website Vandals on the Wall will be staging its annual year-ender offering of some of the best indie acts in Manila. Watch bands such as Ang Bandang Shirley, B.P. Valenzuela, Oh, Flamingo!, Memory Drawers, and Cheats, this Saturday, Dec. 17, at Route 196, Katipunan Ave. Ext., Quezon City. Doors open at 5 p.m. For early birds, a discounted entrance fee may be availed at ₱250 before 7 p.m., while regular entrance is at ₱300 after the cut off. Both are inclusive of a free drink.

Charlie Does Manila Artists of the Month: Quatro Hapimeel & Humbly

Surf and skate shop Charlie Does Manila features their artists for the month of December: visual artist Quatro Hapimeel and self-taught illustrator Humbly. In a visual exhibition, their works will be displayed alongside live performances by electronic musicians Asch, Like Animals, and Escuri. Discover their art this Friday, Dec. 16, at 8 p.m. at Charlie Does Manila, Unit 303, Languages Internationale Bldg, Arnaiz Ave., Makati.

Identikit EP Launch

Indie electronica band Identikit will be having their EP launch this weekend, opened by fellow indie artists Yūrei, The Sleepyheads, Ourselves the Elves, Pie, and Chairman Mouse. Nordlys / P-NOiSE Closing Night

The P-NOiSE festival is a celebration of contemporary works in film, art, and music by Filipino and European artists. This year’s edition will be opening on Thursday, Dec. 15 with artists such as Antoinette Helbing, Tanelli Törmä and Russ Ligtas engaging in debates and performances. The festival’s closing night will be on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Pineapple Lab, 6071 R. Palma St., Poblacion, Makati. Screen: Gay Per View

Cinemalaya award-winning director Petersen Vargas will be premiering a new web series entitled “Hanging Out” this weekend, accompanied by a talk by Boy Abunda about LGBTQ representation in local media, as well as video portrait screenings about queer Filipino lives by Jake Jereza and Marc Wu. Presented by Team magazine and Screen by A Space, the event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, at A Space Greenbelt, 110 Legazpi St., Makati. Door charge is ₱250, but early bird tickets purchased through this link will serve as a raffle entry to win a massive framed print by photographer BJ Pascual.

Free Seminars in Museum Practice

The National Museum of the Philippines will be holding a free seminar about museum practice, featuring researchers and an illustrator who will talk about new research on Philippine biodiversity. The seminar will be at the National Museum of the Philippines, P. Burgos Drive, Rizal Park, Manila, on Friday, Dec. 16, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Trendsetter’s Bazaar

A fashion bazaar and holiday sale called the Trendsetter’s Bazaar will take place from Dec. 16 to 21 at the Metrotent, Metrowalk in Ortigas, Mandaluyong.
