UAAP: Ateneo tackles FEU in rubber match for championship berth

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — For the second consecutive season, the Ateneo Blue Eagles and FEU Tamaraws will face each other in a UAAP Final Four game with a championship berth at stake.

Ateneo has been on a roll, winning six of its last seven matches.

FEU, meanwhile, with a relatively young core relied on motion plays and solid defense to force the do-or-die game.

Expected to lead the Blue Eagles is Thirdy Ravena who is averaging 9.9 points and 7.8 rebounds. While, Raymar Jose has emerged as the go-to-guy for the Tamaraws with a double-double average.

The Katipunan-based squad has failed to make it to the finals since capturing its last title in 2012.

The Tamaraws, on the other hand, are seeking to defend their crown while gunning for a third straight finals appearance.

The top-seeded DLSU Green Archers have already booked a ticket to the finals after getting past the Adamson Soaring Falcons in their playoff encounter last Wednesday.

The Ateneo-FEU rubber match is set on November 30 (Wednesday) at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum at 4 p.m.
