Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Philippine Azkals rose up the FIFA men’s national team world rankings on Friday despite the back-to-back friendly defeats in October.
The Azkals climbed up one spot from 125 to 124 in the world rankings.
In October, the Philippines dropped results to both North Korea and Bahrain in international friendlies.
Bahrain finished a step ahead of the Philippines in the latest rankings at 123, while North Korea landed at the 126th spot.
The Philippines could further improve their ranking if they get a positive result in their upcoming friendly match on November 9 against Kyrgyzstan at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
