DepEd issues apology over false #WalangPasok report
Earlier, the Department of Education sought to clarify a tweet they had sent out regarding class suspensions in the whole of Metro Manila.
The DepEd said, ” In an effort to catch all announcement from different sources (government agencies, LGUs, schools, etc), a tweet from a fake account of a trusted agency was quoted.”
The agency said they had taken down the tweet – but not before it was shared and quoted.
It added, “This apology comes with the appeal to the public to refrain from unverified or malicious #walangpasok announcements.”
The DepEd reminded the public that the suspension of classes due to bad weather is the discretion of local government units.
