
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The national weather bureau said super typhoon Lawin (international name: Haima) made landfall over southern Cagayan late Wednesday evening.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Lawin hit the town of Peñablanca, S. Cagayan at 11 p.m., the same time the state weather bureau was giving an update on the super typhoon.
Lawin is packing maximum sustained winds of 225 kph and gustiness of up to 315 kph. It is expected to move west northwest at 25 kph, crossing Apayao and Ilocos
