
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Several areas in the country have declared suspension of classes in anticipation of the onslaught of Typhoon Lawin (international name: Haima), which continued to gain strength as it moves towards northern Luzon.
As of posting time, classes have been canceled in the following places:
All levels
Apayao
Cagayan province
Ilocos Norte
Isabela (October 19, 20)
Abra (including work in all government offices and private establishments)
Bauang, La Union
Pre-school to high school
Benguet province
Baguio City
Pasil, Kalinga
Tarlac City
San Fernando, La Union
Bacnotan, La Union
Pre-school to elementary
Pre-school to kindergarten
Kindergarten
