UAAP: FEU, NU battle for solo second spot to end first round

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Far Eastern University (FEU) and National University (NU) will test their mettle when they meet on October 5 (Wednesday) at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Tamaraws and the Bulldogs are coming off convincing victories, against the Growling Tigers and the Fighting Maroons, respectively, and are looking to finish the first elimination phase on a winning note note.

Both squad hold an identical 4-2 win-loss slate behind league-leading De La Salle University Green Archers (7-0).

A win will grant the victor the solo second berth headed into the second round.

ENDING THE LOSING SKID

Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers (2-4) look to get back on the winning trail as they go up against the Adamson Soaring Falcons (3-3) in the first game.

The España-based squad is currently on a two-game slide, after losing back-to-back games against the Tamaraws and the Bulldogs.

In the other side of the court, the Falcons are also left reeling after gifting the UE Red Warriors their first victory of the season.

Coach Franz Pumaren’s Adamson is also on a two game losing streak of their own.
