Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — This weekend, you can join artists as they pay homage to the late Amy Winehouse, get signed covers of the newly revamped “Betty & Veronica” sequential comic series, attend a birthday celebration that’s also a music show and photography exhibit, listen to live tunes from a returning Filipino producer based in the U.S., and feast your eyes on the works of a number of artists at an art gallery’s inaugural show.

Back to Black: Amy Winehouse Tribute Night
The Grammy-winning singer Amy Winehouse was larger than life, and the years since her untimely passing have only made it harder to move on from the loss of such a talent. On the fifth anniversary of her death, a number of artists will gather to celebrate her life and perform covers of her best songs. Performers include Cara Andrea Decenteceo, Inky De Dios, Mozzie, Kaze, Ouch Potato, Leo and the Tolstoys, Top Junk, and Sando. The show will take place on Saturday, July 23, at 8 p.m. at Route 196 Bar along Katipunan Avenue.

“Betty & Veronica #1” Launch Party with cover artist Rian Gonzales
Filbar’s is hosting a launch party for the first issue of the new “Betty & Veronica” series. Written and illustrated by Adam Hughes, the issue finds the titular heroines and infamous “frenemies” on opposing sides when the Archie gang’s favorite hangout, Pop Tate’s Chock’lit Shoppe, is taken over by a large coffee company. The Filipino artist Rian Gonzales, who made one of the issue’s variant covers, will be present to sign copies.
Guests can purchase Gonzales’s variant cover for signing, or a blank cover variant of “Betty & Veronica #1” on which she could do quick sketches. The launch event will be held on Sunday, July 24, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the UP Town Center branch of Filbar’s.

To celebrate their birthdays, the photographers Gerard Del Mundo and Roxanne Nebres are hosting For Music By Music, a party that’s also a photography exhibit and a music gig. Catch live performances by Moonstar88, Nicole Asensio, Gabby Alipe, Kjwan, Cheats, and Mayonnaise. Guests can buy prints of the images and have them signed as well.
For Music By Music will be held on Saturday, July 23 at 8 p.m. at 19 East, Sucat, Muntinlupa City. Entrance is ₱350, with an early-bird price of ₱270.
