PBA: Alaska draws first blood vs. Meralco

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Alaska Aces beat the Meralco Bolts, 97-94, in Game 1 of their Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup semifinal series on Monday (April 25) at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

RJ Jazul led the Aces with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while Calvin Abueva added 15 markers off the bench.

Import Rob Dozier only had seven points and eight rebounds.

The Bolts were paced by 21 points from Reynel Hugnatan. Cliff Hodge had 14 points and five rebounds in the loss.

Game 2 between Alaska and Meralco is on Wednesday (April 27) at 7 p.m. at the SMART Araneta Colisem.
