Cool weather expected in Baguio during the Holy Week

Baguio City (CNN Philippines) —  Visitors trooping to Baguio during the Holy Week will truly have a cool week to contemplate as the country’s summer capital is expected to maintain a steady 15 degrees Celsius until Easter Sunday.

Temperatures are not expected exceed 25 degrees Celsius — the lowest expected temperature in Manila for the entire weekend according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The summer capital may even experience temperatures as low as 12 degrees Celsius on Black Saturday (March 26).

Baguio is among the favorite sites during Holy Week due to its cool weather calm atmosphere.

Religious sites such as the Lady of Atonement Cathedral and the stations of the Cross in Mt. Sto. Tomas are also among the main attractions for religious pilgrims.

As of Wednesday morning (March 23), there were already over a million tourists in the city according to Regional Tourism Director Venus Tan.
