Areas to avoid due to road works this Holy Week

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) – Road works welcomed motorists on Maundy Thursday (March 24), as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) began a series of road repairs.

One of which is the road reblocking project along the southbound lane of Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) from Ortigas Avenue to Boni Avenue. Operations began 2 a.m. on Thursday and will last until Sunday (March 27) at 2 p.m.

Also avoid the southbound lane of EDSA from the intersection on Connecticut Street all the way to Boni Avenue. It is closed to traffic until 5 a.m. on Monday (March 28).

For alternate routes, you can take Connecticut Street, San Juan – Santolan Road, or Mandaluyong Bridge.

In Quezon City, the southbound lane of C.P. Garcia Street after Jacinto Street first lane from the sidewalk is also closed to traffic. You can take the streets of Magiting, Maginhawa, and R. Magsaysay to skip the congestion in that area.

Another area to avoid is the northbound stretch of EDSA, beginning from Edsa Madison until Ortigas Avenue. Take Pioneer Street to Shaw Boulevard instead.
