Caitlyn Jenner teams up with MAC Cosmetics for new lipstick

In an Instagram post on Saturday (February 27), Caitlyn Jenner announced that she would be working with MAC Cosmetics to create a lipstick whose sales would benefit organizations that help the transgender community.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — From Olympian to reality show star, and now MAC endorser.

Caitlyn Jenner announced on Saturday (February 27) that she was collaborating with MAC Cosmetics to create a lipstick that would benefit “organizations and programs dedicated to improving transgender lives.”

Jenner announced the collaboration on her Instagram page, where she shared an image of her reclining wearing a gold gown while being attended to by stylists.

In the post, Jenner said, “I’m finally free to announce my partnership with @MACcosmetics! All sales of our lipstick shade, Finally Free, go toward improving transgender communities. Look for it in April!”

In an interview posted on maccosmetics.com, Jenner talked about how her life has changed since she embarked on her transgender journey.

She said, “I worried for 50 years, if I ever did this, what would the reaction be? I never, in my wildest dreams, ever thought it would be as positive for me as it has been.”

She, however, acknowledged that her story was unique and an “exception to the rule,” given the number of “horror stories” she has heard of about members of the transgender community.

Jenner said collaborating with a cosmetics company was her “ultimate fantasy” but thought that it was unlikely to happen.

She said that she had heard rumors of MAC wanting to collaborate with her.

“And then, finally, we had our first meeting. I was so excited to be there,” she added.

When asked about why she chose the name Finally Free for her lipstick, Jenner said it represented the community she belonged in.

She said, “This is who I am: Finally Free.”

Describing the lipstick as a “rosy nude,” Jenner said she wanted a color that was suited for everyday wear.

But she also said, “To be honest, I want people to use it every day so they have to buy more. I want to raise a lot of money. It’s very simple.”

One hundred percent of all sales of Finally Free will go to fund organizations the improve the lives of transgender people.

MAC Cosmetics said that Finally Free will be available in “select markets” on April 7.

It will be sold exclusively on maccosmetics.com.
