Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Veteran photojournalist Sonny Camarillo launched his photo exhibit “EDSA 1986: Before and Beyond” this February at the Trinoma Mall in Quezon City.
The exhibit features over a thousand images of dramatic and iconic scenes from the world’s first bloodless revolution, which celebrates its 30th anniversary on Thursday (February 25).
Former President Fidel V. Ramos, who was Chief of the Philippine Constabulary during the EDSA revolution, was the guest of honor during the event.
He said the images refreshed his memory of the peaceful and non-violent EDSA revolution, which he described as “the perfect example of unity among Filipinos.”

Ramos said EDSA should always remind Filipinos of the people’s solidarity and courage to triumph over dictatorship — and not the traffic.
The former president said the EDSA Revolution was just the beginning of a fight that present and future generations must continue. He said our enemies now are corruption, poverty, lack of public transportation, poor housing, poor healthcare, low salaries, and climate change.
Ramos said the next leader of the country must be able to address these issues and be brave enough to sacrifice for Filipinos.
The exhibit runs until February 29.
