Kidapawan City (CNN Philippines) — Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Manuel “Mar” Roxas II on Thursday (February 4) assured people of North Cotabato that he will push for the completion and operation of M’lang Rural Airport.

Roxas, who was a former secretary of Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), said M’lang airport should be made operational to boost economic growth in central Mindanao and to make travel easier for the passengers in the region.

The LP bet met with local leaders, such as Kidapawan Mayor Joseph Evangelista and North Cotabato representatives Jesus Sacdalan and Nancy Catamco.

Meanwhile, local media did not get the opportunity to talk with Roxas after his speech.

They wanted to ask Roxas his views on the government’s response to the Yolanda tragedy, Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), the Mamasapano incident and the Social Security System pension hike bill.

However, Roxas only granted an exclusive interview to one local radio station, which was arranged by Mayor Evangelista.
