Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Filipino Kevin ‘The Silencer’ Belingon is set to go toe-to-toe against Brazil’s Bibiano Fernandes for the ONE Championship Bantamweight title on January 23 at the ONE Wujie: Dynasty of Champions event in Changsha, China.
Defending champion Fernandes currently holds a professional record of 18 wins and three losses, with most of his victories coming either way of decision or submission.
This will be Fernandes’ fourth title defense since earning the crown by defeating Koetsu Okazaki in 2013 in Manila.
The Brazilian fighter has not tasted defeat in the last five years.
The challenger Belingon fights out of Bagiuo’s famed Team Lakay stable and will look to improve on his 13-4 win-loss record and come home with the belt.
Belingon last saw action in the cage in December 2014, when he notched a dominant unanimous decision victory over the same fighter Fernandes beat to claim the belt.
Another Filipino is also slated to see action in the Dynasty of Champions card, with former professional boxer Roy Doliguez looking to get the win against Japanese veteran Riku Shibuya.
