Gov. Marcos: Bongbong’s candidacy will be the rebirth of the Solid North

Sen. Bongbong Marcos filed a resolution urging the Senate to launch an investigation on the Canadian garbage in the Philippines.

Laoag (CNN Philippines) — Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos said on Tuesday (October 6) that the vice presidential bid of Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. would definitely revive the so-called Solid North.

Marcos said her brother would have a great chance of winning the race considering the possibility that the votes of the Bicol Region would be divided between several candidates.

“My brother will be the only vice presidential candidate from the Ilocos Region,” the governor said. “Thus, we have a great chance of rebuilding the Solid North.”

Marcos said the senator might also run independently if he could not find a favorable presidential candidate to work with in the 2016 elections.

“My brother is very determined to run even without a presidential candidate to tandem with,” Marcos added.
