Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) – Justice Secretary Leila de Lima has also announced her senate bid on Monday (October 5).
De Lima is poised to run under the administration’s Liberal Party (LP).
The justice secretary said she would submit her letter of resignation to the Office of the President on Tuesday.
The filing of certificates of candidacy begins next week, but De Lima is still unsure when exactly she will file.
De Lima, who was appointed to the Cabinet in 2010, expressed she is both sad and excited to leave the the Department of Justice.
