Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — NU Pep Squad captured their third straight University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Cheerdance competition crown at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday (October 3).
Showcasing an evolution of man-inspired routine featuring four pyramids, NU became the third university to pull off such a feat.
The NU performers did that before 25,338 raucous fans donning the eight participating teams’ colors inside the venue.
The other two teams which won three straight titles are the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe and UP Pep Squad which, incidentally, finished second and third, respectively, in the competition.
UST and UP remain as the winningest teams with eight titles each.
Meanwhile, UST dethroned FEU Cheering Squad in the group stunts category.
