Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The National University Pep Squad eyes a third straight University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Cheerdance title on Saturday (October 3) at the Mall of Asia Arena.

NU, which garnered 677.5 points last year en route to victory, also hopes to become just the third team to win three consecutive titles.

The other two are the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe and UP Pep Squad.

Last year’s runner-up UP is set to open the annual competition, followed by the De La Salle University Animo Squad,  Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion, University of the East Pep Squad, Adamson University Pep Squad, and the Far Eastern University Cheering Squad.

UST will be the last to perform in the much-anticipated contest which starts at 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, FEU is out to defend its title in the group stunts category.

The Cheerdance Competition will usher in what seems to be a blockbuster weekend, which will be capped by the men’s basketball encounter between rival schools La Salle and Ateneo on Sunday.
