Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Fast and The Furious cast will be back for three more films, actor Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto, promised fans through his verified Facebook page.
“I promised the studio [Universal Studios] I would deliver one last trilogy to end the saga,” he said via a series of posts.
He added that no one has been offered to helm Fast and Furious 8 yet and no script has been written as of posting.
CNN and The Hollywood Reporter earlier said that Fast and Furious 8 will be released in theaters on April 14, 2017, as revealed by Diesel at a CinemaCon presentation.
“We’re going to make the best movie you’ve ever seen,” he said.
Furious 7 was a huge hit when it was shown in theaters in April, nabbing more than $1.1 billion globally so far.
