Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Lyceum of the Philippines University relied on the bullstrong Cameroonian Jean Victor Nguidjol as it turned back an undermanned Emilio Aguinaldo College, 59-45, to improve to 4-12 (win-loss) in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Thursday (September 4) at The Arena in San Juan.
The 6-9 Nguidjol, who played with a blinded left eye, powered his way to 16 points, 14 rebounds, and two blocks to carry the Pirates to victory.
In the other game, College of St. Benilde beat the San Sebastian Stags, 69-62.
Jonathan Grey spearheaded Benilde’s balanced attack with 25 points.
Benilde improved to a 4-12 card, while the Stags slid to 5-11.
