LPA brews over Eastern Visayas

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted 240 km east of Maasin, Southern Leyte on early morning of Wednesday (September 16).

It was embedded in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), said weather bureau PAGASA.

Light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Visayas, Mindanao, and the province of Palawan, while isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

PAGASA warned that thunderstorm is more likely to develop over the National Capital Region within the next 12 hours.
