(CNN) — Helen Van Winkle of Knoxville, Tennessee, may be the hippest 87-year-old grandma on Instagram.
Van Winkle, who goes by “Baddie Winkle” these days, claims she’s been “stealing your man since 1928,” according to her account.
Van Winkle, who has 1.5 million Instagram followers, is proving she can hang with hip celebs a half century younger than her bad-ass self.
She includes Nicole Richie and Miley Cyrus among her pals.
She got down with Miley at MTV’s Video Music Awards last week. “LOVE YOU @mileycyrus,” she wrote on one post, suggesting folks tune into the VMA’s to see her friend.
“You can now call @nicolerichie #NikkiFresh,” wrote this grandma five weeks ago. “Watch her on #CandidlyNicole on @vh1 tonight at 11/10c.” She knows how to promote her friends’ work!
She even has dance moves any youngster would love to steal.
“Baddie Winkle has helped me a lot — in spirit, anyway. The lessons that I have learned is live and let live,” she told Refinery 29, an online fashion site. “I would love to be a role model for older people. You’re only here once in your lifetime, so have fun.”
