Zamboanga City (CNN Philippines) — Two persons were killed while 19 others were injured when a passenger bus fell into a ravine early Sunday morning (September 6) in Zamboanga City.
The Zamboanga City Police Office identified the fatalities as Raquel Solis, one of the passengers, and a certain Amelia Atilano Buco, a motorist who happened to be in the way of the wayward bus.
A Rural Transit bus (with license plate JVH 919) fell into a ravine while making a turn at the entry to Barangay Pasobolong in the city’s east coast at around 5 a.m.
The bus hit some stalls in the area at the bottom of the ravine. The Buco was immediately killed after being hit by the bus.
Meanwhile, injured were taken to a hospital.
Initial investigation disclosed that the bus driver had fallen asleep,
