Ilocos Norte town holds shake drill

Laoag (CNN Philippines) — Members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted an earthquake drill in Badoc, Ilocos Norte on Monday morning (August 17)

The activity was a part of the continuing preparedness and resiliency program of the local police in the province.

Besides the drop, cover, and hold on procedures, the police force also took the opportunity to practice the evacuation system they set in the town.

Police Chief Insp. Dexter Diovic Corpuz, chief of PNP Badoc, said the activity prepared them to quickly respond to the needs of possible victims of disasters.

Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection, barangays officials, and employees of the local government also participated in the activity.

Aside from the shake drill, Badoc Mayor Arlene Torralba is also conducting resiliency meetings with different sectors as part of the disaster preparedness program of the municipality.
