Zamboanga City (CNN Philippines) — Approximately 100 houses made of light materials were razed to the ground during a fire incident near the town proper in Zamboanga City Monday (August 17).
The fire was first reported around 7:30 a.m. at Nur Ningting Compound, Laminusa Drive in Barangay Talon Talon. The blaze later spread to nearby houses made of light materials.
The fire was declared out at 9:15 a.m.
Bureau of Fire Protection personnel are still conducting their investigation on the cause of the conflagration and the estimated damages. No casualties, however, were reported.
The local government’s city social welfare office and the barangay have distributed initial food assistance to the victims.
