Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The new trailer for the “NBA 2K16” video game dropped Monday (Tuesday, August 11 PHT), and it featured no less than National Basketball Association’s (NBA) reigning Most Valuable Player, Steph Curry.
The “Beyond the Shadows” teaser, which is narrated by filmmaker and “NBA 2K16” collaborator Spike Lee, is a montage that captures Curry’s rise to superstardom — from being overlooked in highschool to becoming an MVP and NBA champion.
The promo video, which highlights the game’s all-new MyCAREER mode, is the first in a three-part miniseries about the game’s three cover stars.
Apart from Curry, two other NBA players are featured on separate covers: Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans and James Harden of the Houston Rockets.
A special edition of the game will also be released with Bulls legend Michael Jordan on the cover.
“NBA 2K16” is expected to be officially released on September 29 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows platforms.
